Stephanie Baker was born and raised in Central New York and currently lives in Oswego, located on Lake Ontario in north-central New York. At a very young age Stephanie was introduced to sewing by her mother.
The opportunity to share her passion and knowledge of quilting with friends and family began when her mother opened a quilt shop. That’s when Stephanie knew, one day she would enjoy teaching regularly. After searching for a paper piecing class online and meeting a fellow Certified Instructor she instantly fell in love with Quiltworx patterns and Judy Niemeyer's designs and techniques and began working toward her goal of becoming a Certified Instructor with Quiltworx.
Now that she has reached that goal she plans to complete and teach Quiltworx patterns as often as possible, incorporating many retreats along the way. To date she has made over 50 Quiltworx projects and hundreds of traditionally pieced quilts with several more in the works. With all these tops completed, she decided to purchase a longarm and turned that into a business too. She is also available to travel anywhere in the United States.
Several years ago Stephanie decided to join a quilt guild to see what they have to offer. She was blown away by the generosity from all their service projects and knew that she wanted to become a major player in that area. Longarming for the group tends to be her strongest asset. She averages 30 projects longarmed a year on top of her regular commissions.
With her quilting experience, laid back personality and a passion to share her knowledge and enthusiasm of Quiltworx patterns, Stephanie offers a classroom setting that is enjoyed by both beginner and experienced quilters. Stephanie’s goal is to help people achieve success one quilt at a time.
